Consumer price index

Source

The same category from more than one publisher. The national statistics office is the record; the IMF's series are its own compilation and can differ in definition, coverage and vintage.

Geography

IHSI publishes the all-items index for five regions; divisions, items and product origin are national only. National values before October 2017 are IHSI's official linked retrospective of its August-2004-base index, expressed on the 2017-2018 base.

Products

IHSI's bulletins publish annual rates for mainly local and mainly imported products from May 2019; IHSI publishes no current index levels for them.

IHSI's methodology annex publishes the linked 2017-2018=100 index through December 2018, and its official online CPI catalogue begins with the May-2020 special bulletin. That bulletin prints May 2019 as its year-earlier column and September 2019 to May 2020 in its history tables; no catalogue resource prints the other 2019 months. The gap is a source-catalogue absence, not a parser omission, and is preserved without interpolation.

From April to September 2023 IHSI issued three bimonthly bulletins (April-May, June-July and August-September); each catalogue row of a pair links to the same PDF. Each table prints both months' index levels and annual rates but no monthly rate, so the monthly-rate cells are a source-published absence.

The August-2021 bulletin updates the headline rates (2.1% and 10.9%) but prints each division's monthly and annual rates exactly as in the July-2021 bulletin; its own index columns imply different August rates (food 14.4% published against 12.1% implied annually; housing 1.5% against 2.8% monthly). The published cells are retained unchanged; nothing is recomputed.

The frequency-gap screen anchors each interior gap on the last observed month. Every IHSI flag is one of the exact, reviewed source-catalogue absences recorded in hti-ihsi-2019-catalogue-gap, hti-ihsi-missing-bulletin-rate-gaps and hti-ihsi-2023-bimonthly-no-monthly-rate (January-April 2019, June-August 2019, June-September 2020 and the April-September 2023 bimonthly releases). No parser omission was found.

The March-2022 bulletin prints the regional February and March index columns in reverse order: its March column equals the February bulletin's February levels and its own monthly rates (1.6-1.7%) match the February-to-March sequence that the April bulletin publishes. The connector takes the March regional levels from IHSI's April-2022 bulletin, unchanged, and keeps the March bulletin's published regional rates.

The official catalogue has no bulletin for June-September and November 2020, April 2021, December 2021 and November 2022; its January- and November-2021 rows link to IHSI 404 pages; and its December-2023 row links to the December-2022 bulletin. Later bulletins print these months' index levels in comparison columns (retained), but monthly and annual division and regional rates are published only for a bulletin's own month. The headline annual rate is complete from IHSI's thirteen-month table. Rates are not derived because IHSI publishes the same series.
