Consumer price index

Source

The same category from more than one publisher. The national statistics office is the record; the IMF's series are its own compilation and can differ in definition, coverage and vintage.

Base

HCP publishes these as separate families. Its documented 1989 and 2006 bases are not silently spliced into either.

Geography

The current family covers National and 18 cities; the 1972-73 family covers National and eight cities. Detailed BDS indices can lag the workbook, which extends only the national general, food and non-food aggregates. Published rates are retained from collected monthly releases.

Frequency

Frequencies are separate source series, not interchangeable observations. Annual measures retain their source definitions.

HCP publishes identical group (112) and class (1120) accommodation series for these cities, so each event correctly appears at both levels. Across the complete cube they have eight monthly falls and nineteen rises of at least 20%; the Al Hoceima August 2023 spike rises through the tourist season and then reverses. The annual API indicator agrees with monthly averages within 0.05 index point. Suppressed as source-published seasonal accommodation volatility.

These are HCP's city-level passenger-air-transport indices, not base changes. Across the complete January 2017-May 2026 cube the category has 37 monthly falls and 41 monthly rises of at least 20%, recurring in different cities and often reversing. Every populated series has all 113 months, and HCP's separately published annual indicator agrees with the average of its monthly levels within 0.05 index point at every annual cell. The immutable API response, annual cross-check, symmetry, and repeated recoveries rule out parser loss and the check's one-way base-break reading. The movements are source-published airfare volatility.

The flags are city fish/seafood (0113), fruit (0116), and vegetable (0117) price movements. The same complete HCP cube has 16 falls and 46 rises of at least 20% across those three seasonal fresh-food classes, including reversals around the flagged months. All series are continuous for 113 months and every separately published annual value agrees with the corresponding monthly mean within 0.05 index point. Suppressed as real source-published volatility rather than base or parser defects.
MoroccoHCP Morocco2022-10-01confirmedMAR.CPI_HCP2017_ERRACHIDIA_0454_INDEX.M2026-09-26Single-month index anomaly
HCP's BDS API publishes 72.5 for Errachidia solid fuels in October 2022 between 99.7 in September and 99.7 in November; the series is 99.7 for every month from January through December 2022 except this one. The annual indicator is consistent with the monthly average, so the cell is source-published and not a parser error, but its one-month fall and exact return confirm an isolated source anomaly. The value is retained unchanged and annotated.
MoroccoHCP Morocco2018-12-01confirmedMAR.CPI_HCP2017_SAFI_1212_INDEX.M2026-09-26Possible index rebasing
HCP's Safi electrical appliances for personal care index is 112.6 from August through November 2018, steps to 82.4 in December, and remains exactly 82.4 through April 2019. The monthly history is complete and HCP's separate annual indicator agrees with its mean, ruling out collection and parsing defects. HCP does not identify a classification or base change for this one city/class, so the source-published discontinuity is retained and warned rather than silently interpreted or repaired.
