Consumer price index

Source

The same category from more than one publisher. The national statistics office is the record; the IMF's series are its own compilation and can differ in definition, coverage and vintage.

Geography

GSS publishes one linked 2021=100 family. StatsBank supplies the backcast through January 2026 and the current monthly COICOP annex continues the same official family; no values are privately rebased.

Source component

GSS publishes all-source, locally produced and imported headline series separately; they are source components, not additional product categories.

The consolidated StatsBank table publishes 2,326 rate cells that differ by more than one percentage point from the same table's rounded index ratio; one example is Upper West non-food in September 2024, published as -42.9% MoM while its index rises 164.6 to 174.9. Two analogous annex cells also fail the calibrated check. The connector fails closed on those contradictory rates and does not invent replacements. The underlying index calendars have no interior gaps, so the resulting rate-only gaps are classified source-published data-quality omissions.

GSS publishes rates and indices independently. The connector retains published rates only where they agree with the matching official index within the project's one-percentage-point rounding tolerance. Watching status deliberately leaves any future residual open for review instead of granting a blanket suppression.

Each flagged level is present in the immutable official GSS StatsBank response or September 2026 COICOP annex. The connector parses each region and product independently, the all-products indices are continuous, and the current annex reproduces the post-2022 regional history without an identity collapse. GSS does not document category-specific base transitions at these dates. These are therefore confirmed source-published level anomalies, not connector splices; retain the values and warn rather than smoothing or privately reconstructing them.
