The same category from more than one publisher. The national statistics office is the record; the IMF's series are its own compilation and can differ in definition, coverage and vintage.
National and thirteen administrative-region series retain separate source identities; regional dashes are preserved where GASTAT says representation is insufficient.
Sources: General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT), Saudi Arabia; download date is recorded with each vintage. Living Inflation Data transforms and redistributes the official data with attribution; those transformations are not attributable to GASTAT. | GASTAT's current reconstructed workbook publishes the fuel-and-lubricants index and its monthly and annual change tables separately. The index falls 19.0% in April 2020, 22.6% in May and 3.6% in June, then rises 31.8% in July and 10.5% in August. The published MoM table reproduces every ratio to floating-point precision and the level returns above its April value, ruling out a reference-base change or parser splice. Preserve this source-published fuel-price episode as volatility. | ||||||

| The immutable GASTAT workbook publishes both persistent steps and matching rate tables: passenger rail falls 43.3% in January 2015 and explicit deposit-taking charges fall 27.0% in February 2026, with each new level then flat for at least six months. The parent classifications do not share these steps and the current methodology identifies no category-specific base transition. Their basket shares are small (0.0982% and 0.0052%). This establishes source publication and rules out parsing or identity collapse, but not whether the source measured a price change or reset the category level. Retain and warn rather than silently altering or splicing the values. | ||||||
